Rules of the Game
How to Play
Election Maven is a game of skill. To play, answer the questions correctly and earn points for correct answers. The winner of the game is the player with the most points.
Who Can Play
Election Maven is open to US residents over the age of 18. The game is free of charge to play. Players may enter once and multiple entries will be disqualified.
Prize Eligibility
According to the NYC Conflict of Interest Board, government employees (including elected officials) can play the game but are ineligible to claim the prize as it exceeds gift giving laws. If you require clarification, Fontas Advisors can connect you with the appropriate COIB representative.
Deadline
The game closes on the eve of NYC Primary Day, Monday, June 21st at 11:59pm ET.
The Prize
The winner will receive (1) a $1,000 donation from Fontas Advisors to a NYC nonprofit chosen by the winner; and (2) dinner for two people via gift certificate to the winner’s preferred restaurant in NYC (value of $250).
Tie Breaker
At the end of the game you will see a tie breaker question. If a tie cannot be broken, the prize will be evenly split among the winners.
Likely Candidates
Given the large field of candidates on this year’s ballot, Election Maven has focused on only the top-tier candidates in each race.
Declaring a Winner
The game's results will be finalized, and a winner crowned, when each race is certified or if the race has been conceded.
Confidentiality
Players’ responses are strictly confidential. The game is built using SurveyMonkey, a leader in online surveys. Access to SurveyMonkey’s technology is only permitted through secure connectivity (e.g. VPN, SSH) and requires multi-factor authentication.
